Why did you choose your industry?As a Therapist with Twenty years of experience I learned that to be a good Therapist I had to provide coaching as well for clients. I like the fact that coaching is results driven with clear goals designed to meet the client's needs. I love to share resources and information that con improve a person's life for the better. Mental Health is still not accepted in certain Black and Latino communities, but they are more open to coaching because it seems to give a more positive vibe.
Who are your typical clients?Couples, Teens and Individuals who need assistance with a life plan and may be struggling to find success or find their voice. I also have group coaching session for Anger Management, Self Mastery, Emotional Intelligence and fostering Self-Esteem. I receive referrals from organizations whom i partner with and provide referral services.
What do you like best about being in this industry?I love the rewarding feeling of someone saying you changed my life or I never saw things in that way Thank You. I simply like helping people on their path to healing and restoration.
What are common problems you see?Resources are few and not enough awareness is placed on Mental Health Coaching especially along with Trauma coaching for people with PTSD, ADHD etc..
What advice/tips do you have for clients?I always say to my clients create three core values that you live by and write them down or put them on your wall. Knowing yourself will help you avoid a lot of pitfalls in life.
When is your busy season?Winter
What keeps you up at night?Finds for marketing and new projects and courses.
How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?I am available on social media (Tik Tok,facebook,Linkedin and Instagram), website, Yelp and I receive exposure via partnerships with other organizations.
How involved are you in the community?I work with NAMI as a volunteer, IWB Cooperative as a member and Grameen America is one of my partners.
What is your favorite not for profit or charity?Grameen America -Non profit They provide business coaching a funding for women in business.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?I would recommend you do your research and get business coaching to avoid a lot of mistakes new business owners make.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?Reading and watching movies
